NKUâ€™s “Grease” Earns 2 LCT Nominations
Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized Northern Kentucky Universityâ€™s production of Grease with two LCT nominations for Choreography (Jane Green) and Ensemble in a Musical, as well as distinguishing it as a recommended production.
Nominated for 11 Tony Awards, Grease has spawned a series of motion pictures as well as two Broadway revivals. In the late 50â€™s â€˜Grease is the wordâ€™ at Rydell High School. where Danny Zuko pines for cheerleader Sandy Dumbrowski.Â Come follow these star-crossed lovers and their gang of rebellious teens as they navigate the complexities of love, cars, and drive-ins.
Panelists praised Jane Greenâ€™s choreography as â€œwitty and cleverâ€; â€œvery energetic and creative, while evoking the spirit of late 50s rock and roll.â€ The ensemble cast was â€œdelightfulâ€â€”all the cast-members were â€œin synchâ€¦the singing and dancing were strong by all.â€ The entire production was â€œfunâ€, â€œhigh energyâ€, and â€œa pleasure to watchâ€.
