Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati“™s Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps and Gowns with two LCT nominations for Ensemble Acting in a Musical and Musical Direction (Scot Wooley), as well as distinguishing it as a recommended production.
Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps & Gowns takes you to the Springfield High School graduation where we reunite with the Wonderettes, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! As we learn about their lives and loves, and take a peek into their futures, we are treated to the girls performing classic “˜50s and “˜60s songs such as “œRiver Deep, Mountain High,“ “œDedicated To The One I Love,“ “œRockin“™ Robin“ and over 20 other classic hits!
Panelists praised the ensemble for “œ a “˜marvelous“™ job“ and their l“™excellent singing“
Scot Wooley, musical director was nominated for his contribution to the “œsparkling vocals“ and the variety he introduced into the numbers. Overall panellists called the show “œcharming, energetic, funny and delightful“.
