NKU“™s “Grease” Earns 2 LCT Nominations

Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized Northern Kentucky University“™s production of Grease with two LCT nominations for Choreography (Jane Green) and Ensemble in a Musical, as well as distinguishing it as a recommended production.

Nominated for 11 Tony Awards, Grease has spawned a series of motion pictures as well as two Broadway revivals. In the late 50“™s “˜Grease is the word“™ at Rydell High School. where Danny Zuko pines for cheerleader Sandy Dumbrowski. Come follow these star-crossed lovers and their gang of rebellious teens as they navigate the complexities of love, cars, and drive-ins.

Panelists praised Jane Green“™s choreography as “œwitty and clever“; “œvery energetic and creative, while evoking the spirit of late 50s rock and roll.“ The ensemble cast was “œdelightful““”all the cast-members were “œin synch“¦the singing and dancing were strong by all.“ The entire production was “œfun“, “œhigh energy“, and “œa pleasure to watch“.

Final LCT awards will be determined at the end of the season and announced at the LCT gala in the spring.
